Raw Love Sunscreen is my OG original gangsta sunscreen that I’ve been using for many years. I met the founder and creator, Jenna, on Maui, shortly after she began creating this powerful water resistant Hawaii mineral sunscreen. Jenna was a water enthusiast with tattoos who decided to make her own mineral sunscreen after she couldn’t find a suitable mineral sunscreen for her needs. Thus, Raw Love Sunscreen was born. I love the OG original tin sunscreens because they have a powerful 35 SPF that works great for midday sun and heat. One Love Body + Soul (OLOVE) – 33 SPF
OLOVE Mineral Sunscreen comes in both a 2 ounce and a 4 ounce sustainable tin that can be recycled or reused. The 33 SPF is powerful and will protect your skin during the heat of the day. I typically use this mineral sunscreen on my face, chest and arms. It smells nice and rubs into your skin easily. The sunscreen ingredients are: Non Nano Zinc Oxide, Organic Sunflower Seed Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Avocado Oil, Organic Carrot Seed Oil, Organic Hemp Seed Oil, Organic Red Raspberry Seed Oil, and Vitamin E.
It took me a while to start using this Maui mineral sunscreen because I’m allergic to avocados, but it turns out I’m able to use this sunscreen without any issues despite my allergy! I’ve known the creator of this lovely mineral sunscreen for years. She has also put the time and effort into become a FDA approved Hawaii mineral sunscreen.
In addition to making one of the best Hawaii sunscreens, OLOVE makes other products that I really love and recommend! My favorite skincare item they make is an amazing natural deodorant that comes in a compostable tube. With three natural scent options, I promise you’ll find one you love, too! For years, the Lavender Deodorant was my favorite, but I recently switched to the new Pikake Pomelo Deodorant — it smells so divine! I still love the lavender too but it’s nice to switch it up. They also offer a Palo Santo Sage Deodorant which I haven’t tried yet; it’s next on my list! All three are small enough to take in your carry-on bag through TSA.
Made on Maui Sunblock (formerly Booty Guard ) – 30 SPF
Made on Maui Sunblock is handcrafted with love by my friend Abra using simple, organic ingredients. 22% is non-nano zinc oxide and the other ingredients are: organic coconut oil, organic cocoa butter, organic beeswax and organic cocoa powder.
The reason I realllly love this Maui sunscreen is that it smells like chocolate cake. I put it on my face and body and I smell like chocolate cake! Some people might not like that, but I LOVE IT! It smells so delicious. The two ounce and four ounce tins do include the warning label “Do not eat” to make sure no one gets the wrong idea with this delicious-smelling product.
I’ve used it a lot in the last few months and I’ve never burned wearing it, even during the heat of the day (10am to 2pm).
